Our Reservations and Operations team is committed to your well-being. To ensure that your trip goes smoothly, we recommend you read the following information carefully.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- IGV (General Sales Tax): Prices do not include the IGV for Peruvian passengers.
- Availability in Machu Picchu: Reservations for Machu Picchu are subject to space availability.
- Inca Trail Closure: The Inca Trail remains closed during the month of February for maintenance and due to the rainy season.
- Tour Details: We recommend you inform yourself well about the circuit, the items you should bring, and the services that are included and those that are not.
- Prices: The price of the tourist packages is per person.
- Physical Preparation: If your trip includes a hike (trekking), we suggest a minimum physical preparation of 2 months before the start date.
- Inca Trail Reservation: The Inca Trail has a limit of 500 spaces per day. We recommend making your reservation with a minimum of 5 months in advance.
- Customized Itineraries: At Mapi Go Travel Agency, we can design an itinerary tailored to your interests, number of people, and desired type of service.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR TRIP
- Documents: Original passport or identity document and Andean Migration Card (TAM).
- Warm Clothes: Dress in layers, especially for cold nights.
- Rain Gear: A good raincoat, rain pants, and a poncho are essential due to the changing climate.
- Health and Care:
- Insect repellent.
- Water bottle to stay hydrated (recommended 1.5 liters daily).
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.
- Medications and personal use items.
- Equipment:
- Light trekking sneakers or shoes, and, if possible, water-resistant.
- Long-sleeved shirts to protect you from the sun and insects.
- A light backpack or small bag for excursions.
- Small travel towel.
- Camera with extra batteries and memory cards.
- Personal flashlight.
- Money: Bring extra money (Soles or Dollars) for drinks, tips, souvenirs, etc.
SPECIAL DISCOUNTS
- Students: Foreign or Peruvian tourists with a current student card (or ISIC Card) get a special discount.
- Andean Community: Tourists from the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador) and Peruvian citizens have access to discounts. Consult us via email.

RESERVATION POLICIES
Reservation Process
To confirm any program or tour, we require the following information:
- Full name.
- Passport or Identity Document number.
- Nationality and age.
- Exact travel dates (including arrival and departure flight times).
- Phone number (with country code).
- Email address.
- Information about medical or dietary restrictions.
- Details of the tours you are interested in.
Important: Make your reservations as far in advance as possible. Many of our tours and destinations have high demand throughout the year.
Payment Methods
To guarantee your reservation and the purchase of tickets, we require a deposit of 50% of the total program cost. The remaining balance must be paid in cash upon your arrival in Cusco or, at the latest, one day before the start of the tour.
Payments can be made to our bank account or through the payment methods indicated at the time of booking (Western Union, PayPal, etc.).
Payment with Western Union: You can send money quickly and safely from any Western Union office.
- Request and complete the “Money Transfer” form.
- Ensure the transfer is made in US dollars.
- Copy the recipient’s details that we will provide you:

- Once the payment is made, send us an email with the receipt and the transfer control number (MTCN). We will confirm receipt of the payment and proceed with your reservation.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES
- Notification: All cancellations must be requested by email.
- Non-Refundable: Reservations for the Inca Trail, as well as tickets for Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, trains, and buses, are non-refundable. These services are subject to the terms and conditions of the providing entities (Ministry of Culture, Peru Rail, Inca Rail, etc.).
- Cancellation Penalties:
- 30 days or more before the start of the service: 50% of the deposit will be retained.
- Between 15 and 7 days before the start of the service: 80% of the deposit will be retained.
- 6 days or less before the start of the service: 100% of the deposit will be retained.
- Trekking Cancellations (Treks): Deposits for treks such as the Inca Trail, Salkantay, or Choquequirao are non-refundable, as they cover the advance purchase of entrance tickets, porters, cooks, and train tickets.
Emergency Cancellations

No-Show
If a client does not show up for the tour due to flight delay or cancellation, the total amount paid will be retained. Mapi Go Travel Agency is not responsible for lost luggage, accidents, unforeseen expenses, or causes outside of our control. In the event of a no-show due to a force majeure event, we will issue a certificate so you can process the refund with your insurance company.
Tour Abandonment: If a client leaves the tour for any reason, additional expenses will be their responsibility, and no refund will be issued.
Refunds
Refunds will be managed directly between the client and Mapi Go Travel Agency, following our policies. Any charges or commissions resulting from the money transfer will be assumed by the client.
FORCE MAJEURE
Mapi Go Travel Agency is not responsible for additional costs derived from situations outside of our control, such as political disputes, strikes, unpredictable weather, road blockages, landslides, problems with train service, etc.
In the event that a strike or other force majeure event forces the departure date of a tour to be brought forward, we will immediately communicate with the passengers. If the client does not accept the change of date, it will be considered a cancellation.
If the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, or another destination is closed due to force majeure reasons, we will do our best to offer an alternative itinerary. In these cases, the deposit will not be refunded, but we will provide the necessary documentation so you can request the refund from your insurance company.
